LENTEN MASS CELEBRATION, ANOANO CATHOLIC COMMUNITY, BUMA PARISH
Greetings to you all once again!
Following the Lenten season, it is an obligation for us Priests to visit communities under our Parish jurisdiction to celebrate holy Mass with them and give them sacraments that they really need. Also it become an opportunity too, for the old, the sick and disabled people to receive holy communion and blessing of God from the Priest, as they could not make it to church for prayers any longer.
On this Sunday, March 15, 2026, which is also the 4th Sunday of Lent, I managed to visit Anoano community on the westside coast of Malaita island. I traveled there by an hired outboard motor boat and just a smooth ride to the place. Many people, men, women and children turned up for the prayers. At 10:00 am (SI time) Mass started. The community put on a wonderful liturgy, by singing and dancing parts of the liturgy.
At 11:30 am the mass ended, after the people had a short recession, then they came back to hear talks that I presented to them. This year 2026 is declared as the Year Of the “EUCHARIST”. My presentation was about the Eucharist and this is to help people to see the importance of Eucharist and the good it offers to their human souls.
Indeed, I had a good day in Anoano, being with the people, praying with them and giving them talks to enhance their good physical and spiritual lives. Later, in the evening, I traveled back to the Parish station.
My prayers and wishes to you all in this great turmoil times and may God richly bless you!
Yours sincerely in Christ!
