Easter Tridium Celebration, April 2nd – 5th, 2026, Holy Spirit Parish, Buma
Happy Easter greetings to you all once again in the name of the Risen Christ!
Now we celebrate the Tridium of our Lord Jesus paschal mystery; his suffering, death and resurrection.
Here in our Parish, it is an event for people to come together again, and to participate in prayers in the parish station. They live far away, but they come to camp in the parish ground for the prayers and liturgies.
Our main vigil mass prayers started on Holy Thursday, April 2, and carries on to Easter, Sunday, the 5th of April.
On Holy Thursday, we celebrate the mass of the Lord’s supper, followed with adoration of the blessed sacrament.
On good Friday, we pray the stations of the cross prayer, followed with veneration of the cross prayer.
On Holy Saturday, we celebrate the vigil mass of the passing over of Jesus to life, beginning with service of fire and procession to church with the paschal candle.
On Sunday, we celebrate the mass of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
During the times of celebration, people have participated in faith and commitment. We are in the times of cyclone Maila that hits the Western Solomons. Weather for us is not favorable, but it does not hinder for our prayer programs at their allocated times.
Also, one of the blessings for us in the celebrations too, is the participation of youth and school children in the programs. They take part in singing the liturgies, sharing in the prayers as well taking readings in the mass.
For all, the participation of all people makes this year’s Easter celebration alive and meaningful. Easter Sunday is the final mass and then it’s time to say Goodbye! Again.
With wishes, regards and prayers to you all!
Yours sincerely in the Risen Christ!
Fr. Albert Kalu
