Greetings!

Sunday  5 th  of June, is a great and joyful day for Buma Parish, in the western side of Malaita. About a thousand people come together and camp in the Mission station ground to celebrate the feast day of the Pentecost, their Parish Patron.

Celebrations started on Monday, 30th of May, and is in form of sports, cultural activities and talks on spiritual subjects which have been given to the young people. This year ‘s celebration is bit different, as it involves sports as well.  As a Priest serving in Buma Parish in 2015-17, I am so privileged to be invited to take part in their Parish Program again.

The celebration ended on Sunday, 5th of June, with Holy Eucharistic celebration which Bishop Peter Houhou, the main celebrant assisted by the Priests. The liturgy of the Mass is so colorful and alive. All enjoyed and appreciated the week’s celebration. After Mass, the Parishioners returned to their respective homes in happiness and with a joyful spirit.
