Retreat at Hauporo for our Priesthood Ministry
Greetings !
As we are about to end this year, 2021, We have been privileged to undertake another time of retreat for our Priesthood Ministry. The Retreat took place at Hauporo, a rural, small Catholic community in Rohinari Parish of the Southern part of Malaita Island. We traveled by Outboard motors.
This year, we are not privileged to have any Priests from outside of the S.I. to facilitate the retreat for us, so it’s a chance is have one of our Senior Priests of the Diocese facilitate the retreat. The theme of this year’s retreat is, “The Chair of St. Peter the Apostle.” The theme reiterates to Priests the conviction that they share in the authority of Christ.
19 Priests attended the Retreat which started on Sunday the 28th of November and ends on Friday, the 3rd of December. Indeed, another time for life and ministerial strengthening; it encourages us to “persevere in our vocation as Priest.”
At the end of the week’s retreat, all the Priests joined in a Eucharistic Celebration where one of the Priests is the main Celebrant. After the Mass, a traditional feasting is provided for all by the community.
My wishes and regards to you all!
Yours sincerely in Christ!
